Motor Trend Garners 100 Million Views On Its Youtube Channel
Major Digital Milestone Secures Brand’s Title as Number One Producer of Automotive Content Online
El Segundo, Calif. (September 21, 2011) – Motor Trend announced today another major milestone in its ongoing strategy to diversify the way its automotive content is delivered; as of June 1, the world’s authority on cars, trucks and SUVs eclipsed 100 million total views on its YouTube channel, just in time for the channel’s official three-year anniversary in September.
Over the past year, Motor Trend has recorded more than 57 million video views on its YouTube channel; an impressive increase in traffic given that the previous two years garnered 43 million views in total. More than one million people are now watching a Motor Trend-produced video on YouTube every week. These recent figures make the brand the undisputed number-one producer of original automotive related content in the United States, with the closest American competitor recording less than 40 million views.
The videos posted to the Motor Trend YouTube channel have evolved beyond short, simple road tests and reviews since the channel was created. Entertaining, visually appealing and grand in scope, TV-style long-form videos have become more prevalent on the channel. Reaction to these videos has been overwhelmingly positive as Motor Trend has seen an enormous growth in the number of viewers in recent months. Across its entire media, Motor Trend now reaches a combined audience of more than 19.3 million each month, a number sure to increase as the brand continues its efforts to allow consumers and fans to find and enjoy the information they want in the format most appealing and accessible to them.
