Programming Line Up: Viewers Ride Shotgun During Best Drivers Car Week photoEL SEGUNDO, Calif. (August 20, 2012) – Viewers will ride shotgun with the Motor Trend staff and famed race car driver Randy Pobst as they test nine of the most exotic, high-performance vehicles in the world in search of Motor Trend’s 2012 Best Driver’s Car. The action begins today exclusively on the Motor Trend YouTube Channel and at MotorTrend.com. The action-packed week will culminate with the crowning of the 2012 Best Driver’s Car and feature the World’s Greatest Drag Race 2, where all nine sports cars make a quarter-mile dash to the checkered flag.

Source Interlink Media, LLC (SIM) announced the Best Driver’s Car Week schedule today. During this week, a fleet of cars collectively worth nearly $1.3M will be pushed, prodded, and pressured at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and out on the open road in a definitive quest to determine the 2012 Best Driver’s Car.

Each of the nine cars will be featured in an exclusive track lap video, which will be complimented by extensive road test notes on MotorTrend.com. On Thursday, Motor Trend will announce the much-anticipated 2012 Best Driver’s Car on the Motor Trend YouTube Channel and at MotorTrend.com. The action will conclude on Friday with World’s Greatest Drag Race 2.

This week’s line-up will feature the following episodes:

Monday, August 20 – The first of three days Hot Lap action kicks off the week with Randy Pobst behind the wheel of the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador, 2013 Subaru BRZ, and the 2012 Jaguar XKR-S at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Tuesday, August 21 – On Day Two Pobst puts the spurs to the 2013 Nissan GT-R Black Edition, 2013 Ford Shelby GT500, and the 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S around the legendary Laguna Seca circuit.

Wednesday, August 22 – The final day of track testing features Pobst putting the last three contenders — the 2012 McLaren MP4-12C, 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series, and 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 — through their paces at Mazda Raceway.

Thursday, August 23 – Judgment Day arrives as the winner of the 2012 Motor Trend Best Driver’s Car is announced with an extensive video feature and story presentation on the Motor Trend YouTube Channel and at MotorTrend.com.

Friday, August 24 – World’s Greatest Drag Race 2: Viewers will be treated to a special bonus as the nine cars tested during Best Driver’s Car Week are pitted against each other in an ultimate display of speed and raw power as they race through the quarter mile to the checkered flag.
