Source Interlink Appoints Key Industry Veteran
Bonita Springs, FL (August 22, 2011) — Source Interlink Companies announced today, the appointment of Hugh Shannon to a newly created role focused on enhancing product purchase and management of inventory. Hugh Shannon joins Source Interlink Distribution as Vice President Product Management reporting directly to David Algire, President Source Interlink Distribution.
In making this announcement, David Algire, President of Source Interlink Distribution stated: “Hugh Shannon will be an excellent addition to take this lead publisher liaison role within Source’s already seasoned executive team. Hugh’s experience and ability to bring partners together will be invaluable as we work to align incentives through the distribution channel.”
Hugh Shannon joins Source Interlink Distribution with extensive experience in magazine sales & marketing within the publishing, wholesale and retail distribution channels. In his new role, Shannon will focus on enhancing our publisher partnerships through working more collaboratively towards optimal purchase decisions that will allow channel partners to focus on more profitable sales. Shannon most recently resided at DSI where, over his 20 years with them, he focused on driving their sales & marketing initiatives across the retail and wholesale channel for premium products. From 2001 through 2010, Shannon was Vice President, Sales & Marketing at Comag Marketing Group (“CMG”) where he was responsible for newsstand sales and retail marketing across half of the US footprint. Prior to CMG, Shannon held various executive sales & marketing positions. Earlier in his career, he held several key positions at a rack manufacturing plant (MYCO) and Source Interlink Management … two companies that are now part of Source Interlink Distribution.
